Sweeble: About Us

Sweeble – and its older sister sweeblenews – were thought up by Sue and Greg.

Our goal is to build great tools that make it easier for people to tell each other what’s going on in their bit of the world. We think your news matters and we want to help you to share it.

Sweeblenews launched in 2006 (confusingly it was initially called sweeble) and sweeble arrived in 2008. You can post your sweeble news stories to sweeblenews as well as your sweeble-built website, but the two sites are otherwise separate.

Sweeble is owned by Sweeble Ltd, which is in turn owned by Open Book International Ltd – UK registered and wholly-owned by Sue and Greg. We are a small, hard-working new company, based in Staffordshire.

Sue
Sue Greenwood has worked in management and editorial roles in newspapers, radio, TV and web publishing. As well as being MD of Sweeble, she teaches online journalism at Staffordshire University. She’s from Hull originally and has two grown-up children.

Greg
Greg Finney has worked in senior sales, marketing and technical roles for blue chip electronic and IT companies in the UK and Europe. As well as being a director of Sweeble, he is owner and MD of Channel Edge Ltd. He’s originally from Stoke-on-Trent and has four children.

3Squared
Sweeble was built by the team at 3Squared, an internet and software development agency, based in Sheffield.

Max and Willow
Every web company needs dogs bodies - these are ours. Max and Willow make sure we don't spend too long staring at computer screens. They joined us from Monmore RGT.
