Sweebler star ratings, Sweebstar of the month – what’s it all about?

Sweeble’s sweebstar system is there to rank the quality and reliability of the videos, stories and ads posted on the site by members.

Members ‘earn’ points by being nominated for a sweebstar by other users and by having their material viewed frequently. Points are converted into star ratings and, over time, indicate which sweeblers are reaching a consistently high standard for their stories/videos or their reliability as a seller/swapper.

Once sweeble is established, we plan to convert sweebstar ratings into a reward system with prizes, discounts and vouchers to recognise the hard work of our best sweeblers.

How does it work?

Sweebstar points are awarded each time a sweebler (member):

• Receives a sweebstar nomination for one of their stories
• When one of their stories achieves a popularity rating of 100
• When the sweebler gets a sweebstar advertiser nomination at the close of a marketplace transaction

Points accrue in multiples of ten towards each sweebstar (five stars maximum) and star colours change to reflect how frequently the sweebler is winning stars over time.

The first sweebstar awarded is green to indicate a first-time sweebstar winner. Subsequent stars are gold, and a black super sweebstar is handed out to the top sweeblers stacking up hundreds of points over the year.

Sweeblers cannot nominate themselves for a sweebstar and other users can only nominate a story/post once. Stories or ads which have to be deleted by sweeble sysops lose any accrued sweebstar points.

How do I know what my sweebstar rating is?

Each story has three rating measures at the bottom: popularity number, sweebstar nominations number and the sweebler’s star rating (if they have one).

The popularity measure shows how many times the story ahs been read. The sweebstar nomination number shows how many times other users have rated that particular story and the sweebler rating shows the overall ranking for that sweeble member.

A sweebler’s sweebstar rating shows in multiples of stars at the end of every story, video or advert they post and at the end of every comment they post in the You Say boards. It also shows in the My Details box in My Sweeble (your site admin area).
